Small Bathroom Remodel | ||

I have a bathroom in an old house in Decatur, just inside the perimeter that I want to do a full remodel on. I want to rip out the lineolum, install tile, tear out the tub and wall tiles and replace those with a new tub and new tile on the walls. It will need a new vanity and medicine cabinet combo. Also, new trim at the bottom of the walls all the way around. I can pay for materials, and you can just give me quotes for labor. The bathroom is 4\\\'10\\\" by 7\\\'1\\\" not including the tub. I\\\'d also like to replace the door on the bathroom. Doesn\\\'t need to be prehung, it can just be a replacement slab. The only small issue with this remodel is that the area between the toilet and the tub has some water damage and seems to be rotted out. So, the subfloor will need to be replaced there. The rotten area doesn't seem to be more than a square foot in size, but we won't know for sure until the tub comes out. Also, I may need some help bringing materials to my house since I do not have a truck. I only want quotes from contractors that do high quality work and don\\\'t settle for \\\"good enough\\\". The floor in my kitchen is sagging in the middle, and I need to fix this unevenness and install a tile floor. Relevant pionts: - House is 34 years old - 30\" min. crawl space clearance - Kitchen is approximately 17\' x 22\', and has no supports in the crawl space underneath this span - Kitchen floor is currently linolium with a plywood sub floor - The sagging of the floor needs to be stopped, corrected, and the floor needs to be supported to hold the additional weight of the tile floor and a granite topped island that will be installed in the kitchen - My thoughts are I need to pour concrete footings and install 2 support columns and a beam in the crawl space in the center of the kitchen (this part has been done on a temporary basis with concrete block columns, bolted together 2x6s for a beam, and no concrete footing), and then pour a leveling compound on the floor in the kitchen before using concrete backer board and installing the tile. However, if there is a better/more efficient way to achieve the needed result, I would be very open to other approaches. | ||
