Hello- My wife and I are looking for an experienced landscaper who can do (or provide) the following services for our backyard: 1) Remove two trees from our backyard. Both are medium-large trees. One is a pine, the other is an oak. The pine will be easier to remove than the oak because its very, very close to the wide driveway access, but both need to be removed. We are under Dekalb County, which is much more lenient about tree removal than city of Atlanta. 2) Grade our backyard and install retaining wall. Our backyard slopes slightly down all the way to the end of the property. Its not a steep dropoff, but it does dropoff 10-12" over 80" of property (a gradual decline). We would like a retaining wall installed in the center line of the backyard so we can have TWO level tiers of yard to use. Ideally use stone, but we are on a BUDGET!! so if we MUST, landscape timbers can do too (so long as they are grade #1 timbers treated). May need a few trucks of dirt as well. 3) Sod - final part of project is installing fescue sod in the backyard. Probably will need 10-12 palates installed. Please reply ONLY if (1) YOU ARE INSURED (and your insurance covers tree removal and retaining walls/general landscaping); (2) You have experience grading and building retaining walls to CODE; and (3) YOU PRICES ARE VERY REASONABLE - yes, I understand you need to make some profit, but we are in a recession and its hurting all of us! i'd like this to be a mutually beneficial opportunity! They should also be able to maintain all 191 units in two or three days in the week they come. Meaning, we don’t want someone that will cut the front of the community one week then the back of the community the next week if possible. I would like to have two trees removed, and have a 40\' by 40\' section at the base of the hill leveled, with a retaining wall constructed, leaving a small flat back yard area. I estimate that perhaps 250 cubic feet of dirt would need to be removed, and a 60\' long retaining wall would have to be constructed, with maximum height of 8 feet and average height around 5-6 feet. Two 30 foot tall trees would have to be removed as well. We haven\'t removed any trees yet, so per Dekalb county tree rules the permit should be easy to get. Please let me know if you generally get the permits for tree removal, or if you require the homeowner to do so. Please also provide a rough estimate for this kind of work if you can. | ||
