Looking to make a deal on getting hardwood floors intalled in my home. In order to lower my costs, I am willing to pull up the carpets, linoleum and 1/4 round if necessary. I'd like to have someone come and install the material that I have on hand. I have not purchased any material yet and would like either suggestions or advice. Would like the person doing the installation to make sure that there are no low/high spots (I think that there's a slight rise (slight enough that no one notices except for me since I live here) in the kitchen area) that will interfere with the use after installation. Not sure that it's an issue, but would like to resolve any issues before applying the flooring. I am not in the city of Cumming, I am on HGWY 369 and Old Federal Road (out toward the dump I suppose (I'm in the Montclair Subdivision on Woodland Tree Lane), you can find me on MapQuest.com **!!don't rely on the map that is displayed here on BensPost!!**. I'm about 15-20 minutes northwest of the point on the map shown here. I know that it's far out so please take a look at where I am before responding as I've had several people respond to other projects and tell me that I'm too far out (and tried to get money out of me for a consultation fee) after learning where I am and saying that they'd take a look. I would like to do this project next month (September, 2008) and if possible would like to have the work completed over a weekend. I have kids so I can't be out of the main floor for too long, which is why I'm looking for professionals to do the job. I think that the first floor is approx 1600-2000 sq ft (give or take since I don't have a tape measure handy and I just paced off and multiplied some rough measurements). I have a room that is 22' x 17' that I need prefinished hardwood installed. All furniture and objects will be removed before you arrive. I have the wood. It is Bruce prefinished 2-1/4" x 3/4" real hardwood. I have the same hardwood existing in the foyer that has an 8' framed opening that needs to have some pieces removed and the new tied in so there is no visible joint or transition.
